SIP Trunking and Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE)
This e-Learning course will demonstrate the network capabilities necessary to support Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), which enables virtual connections from the business user to the service provider over SIP trunks. Supported on Windows or Mac computing environments with the following browsers: Safari (v5.x and above), Chrome (v21.x and above), or Firefox (v11.x and Flash v9.x and above) browsers.
The training will not work with other browsers, including Internet Explorer.
New collaboration services continue to be introduced, providing benefit to the enterprise. They incorporate existing fundamental elements such as voice, video, mobility, instant messaging, and virtual desktop technologies. However, the underlying network resources of most businesses are not designed to support these services. Learn about SIP Trunking and CUBE as a way to help solve some of these challenges.
This e-Learning provides an overview on:
The SIP Trunking and Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) e-Learning offers the following modules:
Module 1: Overview of SIP Trunking and CUBE - An overview of the SIP protocol - which is used to establish, manage and terminate sessions over an IP network.
Module 2: Steps to connecting to a SIP Trunk Provider - Learn the basic steps required to successfully connect your voice network to a SIP trunk provider using Cisco's Enterprise Session Border Controller - Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE).
Module 3: SIP Protocol Overview - Get an overview of the SIP protocol - which is used to establish, manage and terminate sessions over an IP network.
Module 4: Call Routing on CUBE - Gain a detailed understanding of CUBE deployment modes, call routing functionality, different ways of doing an Inbound Dial-peer match and Outbound Dial-peer match.
Module 5: Interworking - One of the key functionalities of CUBE is Interworking. Understand how CUBE can interwork between different SIP networks and address any interoperability challenges that may arise.
Module 6: Security and Call Admission Control - Security is a key CUBE capability. Hear about the secured demarcation edge that enables enterprise voice network to connect to SIP trunk providers while providing different call admission controls.
Module 7: Media Manipulation, Enhancement & Optimization - Session Border Controller allows for manipulation of media to interwork between SIP networks to provide an enhanced end user experience. Learn how CUBE provides media manipulation, enhancement and optimization by leveraging DSPs on the platform.
Module 8: High Availability Solutions - Understand the different High Availability Solutions of Cisco Unified Border Element on the ISR-G2 and ASR platforms, including the configuration required for Box to Box and Inbox Redundancy.
